What is the SSC?

The Social Security Commission (SSC) helps protect workers in case of sickness, maternity, disability, or death. As a business owner or employer, you are required to register yourself and your employees with SSC once your business is active.

Why SSC Registration Matters?

  • it’s required by law for all businesses and employees.
  • It gives your workers (and you) access to benefits if something happens.
  • You’ll need it when applying for tenders or compliance certificates.
  • It shows you are a responsible employer and citizen.

Who Must Register?

  • CCs or Companies with staff (even 1 employee)
  • Employees earning more than N$1,000/month

How to register with the SSC

🔹 For Employers (Business Owners):

  1. Fill in the form 1 application for registration as an employer
  2. Submit:
    • Certified copy of your ID
    • BIPA Registration Certificate
    • Business address
    • Any employee details (if you have staff already)

🔹 For Employees:

  1. Fill in the Form-2-Application-for-registration-as-an-employee
  2. Attach:
    • Certified copy of ID
    • Starting date of employment
  3. Employer must submit this to SSC on behalf of the employee.
