Understanding the Name Reservation Process
Before reserving a business name, it’s important to choose the right name. A business name typically consists of two parts:
1. Prefix – A unique name that does not necessarily relate to the business. This makes your business name distinctive.
2. Descriptive Part – This describes what the business does, helping people understand its purpose.
For example, in “Zeta Construction,” “Zeta” is the prefix (a unique identifier), and “Construction” is the descriptive part (showing the business’s industry).
To reserve a name with BIPA:
The fee is N$75.
The application must be submitted with a certified copy of your identification document, which must not be older than six months.
